The William Wallace Statue stands near the Bemersyde estate, close to Melrose in the Scottish Borders. It was built to honour William Wallace.

Constructed from red sandstone by John Smith of Darnick, the statue was erected in 1814. It stands 31 feet (9.4 m) tall and depicts Wallace gazing over the River Tweed.

The Temple of the Muses, located near Melrose on the banks of the River Tweed, is a striking neoclassical monument dedicated to James Thomson, the Scottish poet famous for The Seasons and the lyrics to Rule, Britannia!

We both walked here, but when Charlie got tired, I went back along our path to get our Mini. Dryburgh Abbey is nearby and makes for a great place to visit.
