Hott Hill

Nestled in the parish of Roberton, Hott Hill rises quietly beside the gentle flow of Borthwick Water.

It took a five-minute drone flight over the waterlogged plantation to reach this spot.

Today, I visited Chisholme and toured the institute. It’s such an interesting place, and at Woodburn Farmhouse, we’re neighbours.

I made my way back to Woodburn Farmhouse, the sights and sounds of Chilshomle's grounds still lingering in my mind.

Did you know our friendly neighbour used to be a professional darts player?

Lucy the ewe and her lambs cling to the warm glow of the sunset across our paddock; we have struggled to keep them alive.

Bill mentioned that we are cramped at Woodburn compared to other areas in the valley. I agree that his observation is valid.

I sent my drone soaring to check out the fields Charlie had told me about.

Charlie’s fascination with farming history has sparked my own interest in the Borthwick Valley landscape. This is a place where I feel accepted. Every time I head back to Ancrum from here, my stomach tightens up.
