Woodburn Farmhouse, Roberton 22nd January 2025

Our lambs are due in three weeks, so Charlie started the tractor and moved the topper to make room for us to construct a lambing enclosure.

The picture below was taken with my iPhone on a tripod, and my Apple Watch triggered the action.

And a video clip.
Early afternoon we walked through the Craik forest.

We drove into Hawick, Charlie shopped, purchased bird food in B&M bargins, hopefully I'll get some interesting pictures tomorrow.

In the morning Charlie unloaded a bale of hay of the sheep.
During the afternoon we fetched logs for our fire, chaff for our sheep and grit for our driveway.

I worry for Charlie, he has reduced capacity of judgement when it comes to lifting those heavy things; I help him wherever I am abled, however I'm holding the camera so rarely appear in these photographs. I used still images and short clips as I want to limit interference making this diary may have upon our day.

Journey returning to Roberton sure is pretty during the winter months.

Everyday is busy, even on days of rest were busy with domestic jobs.

Recieved a visit from the vet, poor wee tup lamb has a problem with his immunity.

She injected him twice and recomended us to keep giving him glucose and vitamins.
Hope he lives.

Today I took a picture along Ale Water with my Panasonic DC-FZ82 bridge camera.

Tonight I've returned to Woodburn as we have a sick tup lamb needing attention.

Apple Watch green ring was requesting to be closed so I took exercise on the Farmhouse Paddock.

I attempted a time lapse video clip but the blustry wind knocked over the tripod, the dusk sky was stagnant anyhow.
At carpet bowls I won the first game but lost the set; one bowler described me as wreckless for repeatedly stepping on door latch.

Snow arrived yesterday, Charlie took me out for a drive along the road to Ashkirk. As we ascended the bank of an unpopulated valley the road was not gritted, vision became limited, I saw little reason to continue in view of taking photographs for this post. I enjoy staying at the farm, however anxiety manages to factor in cabin fever.

Sometimes I ask myself why I bother to update these pages, then I remind myself that is why I must update these pages. Ghostly memory of dejected person, lost somewhere about these here hills.

Out and about collecting chaff today.

The dusty hopper was contaminated with rat droppings.

We used the sheep energy buckets for so many different things, here we are using the tubs as a measure. Charlie carefully mixes wheat with chaff, if the mixture is wrong it can kill the flock and also they have to be introduced to this diet slowly; once this resource has ran out, its £500 to find for ewe nuts.

Leaving I noticed a young coo with her head appearing through a broken brick wall, this, for a moment reminded me of the Shinning film "Here's Johnny!" scene.

A sunset walk alone the Ale Water in Ancrum.

This area of Ale water is often blustry cold .

Its took many years to look at photographs of myself.

How pathetic.
The day was sopping wet, I faced off relentless rain to exercise a walk by a swollen Ale Water.
Happy New Year, EVERYONE .
