I got a new life, you would hardly recognise me.

28th
Paid over £100 in parking and clean air fines wagered upon our pick up truck, issued by Newcastle council.

These are penny pinching times, notably when crossing the Humber Bridge.
26th
Charlie has the day off work, so were returning to Chillingham castle.

Prince Philip has visited the castle.

We entered a dark dungeon; luckily my camera has a flash.

Pig branks mask and an iron madien; reintroduce this as a punishment for TERFS.

We thought we had seen enough of the castle and gardens so walked a winding woodland path to see the lakes.

Some of the trees on the estate were beautiful, like this beech.

Awesome Charlie shared his life with me; he became too tired to walk futher to see the cows so I took these two pictures for him.

After a long talk with Charlie (he's employed to look after cows) the consensus, considering captivity and origin came to be that these cows are generations negelected by a mentality that centuries ago believed them to be wild enough to hunt. It'w my hope the estate will embrace responsibility and, at the earliest opertunity, improve conditions for these animals.
22nd
New upgraded reading glasses ordered today; six months after my eye test.
21st
We overslept, Charlie is working in the afternoon today.

I weeded, whilst Charlie planted potatoes and a row of peas.
20th
Charlie was excited to return to the seaside; the morning was cloudless, and crisp, we drove through Hawick, and then took a back round to Carter Bar. We dove through Otterburn, Ponteland, nearing the Tyne Tunnel a speeding white transit van, pulled in front of our truck and soiled us via a sustained release of thick, black acrid smoke.

Arriving in South Shields we enjoyed a cooked breakfast at a Wetherspoon's pub named "The Wouldhave"; the pub was great, and we enjoyed our food, but a creepy unwashed man sat at a table over from us, ordered nothing, and left the premises following behind us. Charlie found our truck had been ticketed, we now have a twenty-five pound fine to pay.

Charlie posed for a panoramic photograph; we love the soft texture of golden sand at this beach.

Unfettered by negative events we enjoyed playing the seaside amusements. Charlie was a crack shot at a riffle gallery game, he then played me at table ice hockey themed with sonic the hedgehog, from the begginging he was three down, but pulled himself together to narrowly defeat me seven to my six points. Charlie also attempted to win me a toy highland coo.

Recieved some lovely text messages from my cousin Julie, I'm looking forward to meeting her on the next occassion me and Charlie visit South Shields. Charlie loves the seaside, although we usually remain within the Scottish Borders visiting Eyemouth or Spital (near Berrick-On-Tweed. On this occassion I came with my 1200mm zoom lens bridge camera.

We kinda enjoyed service at Toby Carvery, only we did not eat meat, choosing a fish dish instead. Busy restaurant had no AC working, and served us overcooked vegetables; customer was declined a little off cut gristle from a carved joint, the carver stated this would be an additional helping. Toilet was broken, salmon was dodgy, so we also skipped desert.

We explored Cleadon for five minutes, then returned to our truck and drove a hundred yards to a car park, where we met Kat and her friends. We were directed to two sheep (large whethers) that required sheering, without much fuss Charlie got stuck into the job at hand. After Kat showed us her two horses, and admired her dedication to their upkeep and welfare.

Before leaving South Shields we stopped to have ice cream at Minchella & Co ice cream parlor, desert was delicious, I enjoyed with Charlie; this lovely day here in South Shields.

The return journey along the A68 forking left after Carters Bar toward Woodburn Farmhouse took two hours.
Charlie wasted no time feeding the sheep, as I endeavoured to light our open fire before sundown. Tomorrow we have planned to do some kitchen gardening at Woodburn Farmhouse.
19th
Visited grasskeep to do a welfare check, and also to drench worm and dag our flock of gimmers.

Dagging the sheep took significantly longer than drench worming them.
18th
Creepy, hateful people in Jedburgh tonight, ugh.
15th
Visited grasskeep with Charlie, after calling into Tarff for ewe pellets.

The sheep have mucky bums, a sign that maybe they have worms, although there has been heavy rainfall recently.
14th
Potting Lupin seeds this morning, these plants are supposed to be hardy.

Let's see if they survive the harsh Scottish Borders weather.

Late afternoon I cooked and served us (me and Charlie) chicken soup.
13th
This morning we pressure washed and Hammerite sprayed underneath our Warrior L200 truck; last MOT had rust advisory.

I hurried Charlie to do it, he said it wouldn't rain, five minutes after completing the job the rain poured down, ho hum.
12th
Cut the grass in the front garden at Woodburn Farmhouse, then took several pictures with my Cannon EOS 500D.

Our lambs this year.

A UV filter and a petal lens hood arrived today, these have improved picture quality significantly.
10th
Cullinary herb garden at my house.

All these plants survived the winter.
Classic cars came to Ancrum, nostalgic.
8th
More plants to plant, from the awesome Woodside Garden Center.

Large Garden Center overwhelm choice, so I preffer small garden centers.
7th
Updating my diary in the morning, in the afternoon I dug the kitchen garden.

We're having hot weather here in the borders, overheated I stopped early at 2pm.
