Today I am working on this website, have a warm open log fire behind, a countryside view to the right and so much to do here. In the evening we played carpet bowls at our village hall, the reception was initially frosty, perhaps despondent.
Today I have quit smoking; tired with coughing my lungs up. Early morning the temperature dropped to -7c; everywhere is coated in whiteness, my favourite time of the year in bonnie Scotland.
I've been gazing at my Roberton walks booklet for some time, but today, on his way to work, Charlie dropped me outside Forman Hall to navigate surrounding footpaths along Borthwick water that would eventually return me to the farmhouse.
Very much enjoyed going to Roberton Show today; Roberton and surrounding areas very much made the show, all our neighbours were there.
Some sheep at the paddock have maggots attacking their bottoms, so today I've been shooting the fly spray squirt gun.
Today I took some walking exercise along Borthwick valley. After a walk through the grounds of Chisholme house, noticing pink and white woodland fox gloves, then down a hill, through grazing fields, I noticed the gate fastenings were made from wire.
Charlie woke me but 6am on a Sunday morning in much too early to be drinking coffee. I strimmed the paddock roadside walling, that wasn't in reach of the topper yesterday.
