Today I walked into Hawick with my friend, found a dress in a charity shop, visited a pub, we had a half each, myself Tennant's, her Guinness, the clientele were OK, and so was the landlord, but his wife looked me up and down as if I were dirt.
We waited half an hour for a taxi outside, in the rain.
