The Ancrum Hogback stone is one of only seven known in the Scottish Borders and, in spite of recent deterioration, is probably the best preserved.
Walking about I became visually interested in Ancrum Kirkyard, its very peaceful here, along the Ale water; previously I've been too anxious to visit.
The Kirkyard accommodates Common Wealth war graves.
I walked over the Ancrum fort, briefly; I had planned to visit the caves, but the person I spoke to looked at me strangely, locals do this when enquiring about the caves.
