26th

Quiet but active day, so far we have one dead lamb, three new born lambs (two and one day old) with three ewes. Charlie is typical farmer, in that he enjoys burning plastic; to my dismay, he doesn't know I was, for many years, an environmentalist.

Charlie says there was a Shepherd in the Borders who used to cut the ears off ewe's that refused to nurture their newborns; effective marking them for slaughter. States it was absolutely unnecessary.

25th

Today Charlie drove me around the Borders, from Newcastleton, over a moor to Langholm and then back towards Hawick after visiting a collectables shop. This road is worth travelling for scenic views of the borders as pictured below.

Langholm moor is a beautiful place to be.

23rd

Lovely sunny morning outside, whilst have been locked inside the farmhouse; ho hum. These are last year's lambs bunting each other.

In the afternoon Charlie drove me to a hill near Ashkirk.

Breathe some open air whilst strolling a woodland track.

I find the borders endearing, and in future will find more time to roam outside.

21st

The car bump started, we drove upwards and stopped, I took a panoramic picture.

Up all last night with toothache, got a few hours sleep early morning.
