December 2022

27th

Woke up, had bubble and squeak breakfast then took pictures / film of last nights snowfall.

Returned to my residence in Hawick after spending a warm evening with my friend. I am thankful to the Scottish Borders council for the shelter they have given me, to settle down from a forbidding frontier pushing an endurance that would have eventually killed me. Christmas decorations only extended to two strips of tinsel and a few baubles. My mind is still noisy, but I am more restful towards the malcontent messages that intrude every waking hour through my mind.

20th

Taught myself how to knit, first attempt.

I have lots of plans for this past time.

18th

We took a drive to the Grey Mares Tail water falls, along the way, after requesting patience I took some pictures of the icy waters.

The prevalent wind blew hardness as the chill clung to my cheeks. The winding footpath up to the falls was narrow and subsided.

Two people were with a drone at the falls, one was wearing a bright red jacket, thus I had to wait some time before I could get a good picture of the falls.

A monument remembering Ettrick sheppard, poet and writter James Hogg. His most significant work: "The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner", 1824, ugh.

Arrived at Meggit water.

The Coburn tower is underneath it, in ruins.

Read a Megget water information board.

The light quickly evaporated as we returned to where we came from.

Charlies Christmas Tree!
